I always dive with 2 computers . I have a Oceanic Datamax Pro and a Oceanic Prodigy hose mount . I do this for the vary reason you state . If one gives up the gost I can keep on diving . After spending thousands to dive over seas it makes no CENTS to sit out when a $100 insuranc policy , dive computer , will keep you in the water . Just make sure they track , your tissue loading , the same . I talked to Oceanic at the scuba show before I bought . Ok I have my fire jack it . I am sure some one will find fault with this method but it works .
