Tia:

There is a great little dive shop out at La Bufadora, about 20 - 30 minutes outside of town. It has small fishing boats ("pongas") which are kind of annoying to get into after a dive, but the diving there is fantastic. The owner is an expatriated American and most of the employees (except for the boat operators) seem to know enough english to communicate well.

If you dive with his people, they will tell you whether or not you can take game, but be forewarned, if you take game and do not have a fishing permit the Federales can (and will) confiscate your gear.

If you are going just for sight seeing, then no worries.

Also, there is a little camp ground right there next to the dive shop with limited toilet facilities. Your VW camper would be perfect there, and there are the usual tourist trap vendor booths, a small convenience store, and several decent restraunts in case you don't feel like cooking. Make sure you buy your beer in town for better prices (assuming you want beer when you are there). And don't drink the water.......
