I had just gotten to nicolas and was hanging around the east end light when i felt and heard a huge thump on the bottom of my skiff. I looked over the side and a small sea lion came right out of the water, right at my face. As i walked forward, it came out of the awter a couple of more times and i had to literally push it away! I have a flatbottom skiff which has a 6" dia. window in the cockpit floor. I suspect that the sea lion was reacting to the beam of light that eminates from the window.
Anyway, a couple of months later at the exact same place, i was dozing on the back deck of my skiff and i was woken by a huge crash and thud! Sea lion in the skiff! I gently talked him back over the side.
I have to believe it was the same one.
