If you had seen Jablonski's cave video you would understand the emphasis on streamlining. They show a diver hanging motionless behind a scooter being dragged 18,000 ft. into a cave (then back out too, I guess.) In that situation, a small increase in drag could seriously compromise the quality of your day. For us, it's probably less important.
