If I had to guess (correct me if I am wrong) the big deal about BT's arn't the NDL's but the consumption, especially in shallower water. I know that I often must ascend far earlier than I must (according to computer [I know, I know]) because I am nearing 500 psi. I suppose at a deeper depth, the NDL's come in to play. My .02
