I agree tank buoyancy and weighting needs to be thought out for two key points.
1) Just enough weight to maintain your last safety/deco stop.
2) Not have tank and gear so negative you can't become positive by dumping weight.

The simplistic mindless drivel spouted by the local self appointed DIR advocates that you should never dive with a steel tank in a wet suit is ridiculous.
They either do not understand the buoyancy issue themselves, or they have so little respect for other people's intelligence that they feel compelled to recite absurd and oversimplified rules.
