That was a good post. It's nice to hear a balanced opinion.
Part of the reason I like my steel tank, beyond the convenience and desired buoyancy, is that I wasted my back at Hawaii last year. Were talking weeks of bed and crawling, spasms until the muscles are exhausted... Though we never figured out the cause, my weight belt was implicated.
besides, if you needed to wear 37 pounds with Al, wouldn't you try to get rid of some.
They do need to come up with better ditchable weight systems though.
