yep, monastery pebbles can really do a number.
I had a non working inflator button after getting
trashed in the surf a few rounds. Didn't get to
emergency state, but it was problematic, esp since I
was down to one fin, a mask full of pebbles, and inches
of salt froth on top of the water.
However, I've found the mini sendiment of Del Monte
Beach to be even worse for my gear.
As for freediving, I'm trying to get better. It's just
a matter of time available. When ab season opens, motivation
will come.
