According to the artical the prerequiste is 100 logged dives, AOW and approved physical. Required curriculum: dive planning, including air and decompression management. Use of independent back-up breathing source, pony or twin cylinders with isolation manifold. use of signaling and location devices, flotation equipment. Navigation skills, fitness and conditioning self-rescue and stress management, contingency planning. Use of safety reels, deco bags, current hooks etc. Two articals one written by Paul Humann and by other by Bret Gilliam also says that solo diving is not for everyone but for those that would rather dive solo than be forced to buddy up with a stranger(looser). It is SDI/TDI.
This doesn't appear to be an April fools joke, yet we shall see. I wonder if the lifeguards at Crescent Bay/Shaw's Cove would accept a solo card?
