I dived Redondo Cyn. this December (12/23) and was already late for this season's spawning. Lots of eggs were already laid, but I did see some squid, and a few actually mating. Octopi were out, and one held a squid encapsuled with its arms. It looked like he was hiding a cigar :-) but it was perpendicualar (!), so it looked even funnier.
