The best diving in that area is a wreck called the C56. Its a 300 foot long Mexican Armada Cutter sitting on the sand at 80 FSW. Perfectly intact and pristine, well, almost pristine as I was the first diver on her.

Nearby are some excellent deep reefs that make for FANTASTIC drift diving.

I also have some friends down there that can take you on a guided cave dive if you don't have the cert or gear to explore some of the local holes.

Invest the extra money to get off the beaten path in that area or you are on a cattle boat surrounded by clods diving some reef that looks like a small town hit by a motorcycle gang.

Make sure to have dinner at the "Rose" for a the best meal in Cancun.

There is also a real interesting bar on the outskirts of Puerto Morelos . . . .
