I was there a couple of weeks ago. We made four dives and I felt as though I could have seen more marine life at the local public swimming pool. All I saw was blacksmiths, small surf perch, immature sheepshead and a couple of undersized kelp bass.
I know that sport divers play a relatively small part in the depletion of the fisheries but we ought to take a stand and do something about this.
Is there any wonder that the diving industry is in such a decline?
Elsewhere on the board, someone is lamenting how many boats are canceled these days -- my guess is that declining quality of the diving has a lot to do with the fact that boats can't sell enough spots.
