In summary, I did what all of you all said to do regarding my Suunto Vyper dive computer: turned the air dive feature back on, re-engaged the algorithm, compared the planning profiles in it to PADI, and it comes out about 1 or 2 minutes more conservative than PADI.
So I set the max depth warning buzzer to 165', which computes to be my max safe depth with my single 120 cu ft tank on. Now I will test the deep stop feature with it, like Mike Kole said to, and see if it penalizes or not.
You guys are all pretty bright, and also great divers, very smart, and so I will go ahead and put some of your posts into practice. You guys are making me a more conservative diver, and maybe hopefully less of a stroke! thanks, jeff! still have to find a decent buddy though, like minded and all that.
