Im not DIR but am in agreement with most of their beliefs and practices, What I dont get from your post is this;
If you and I were to show up on a boat that is specifically charted for an advanced, deep and possibly deco dive, you would accept me as your buddy should I show up with my BP and necklace and tell you I follow the DIR principle? Thats all it would take for you to accept me as your potential life-saver?
That does not sound like anything I have heard before, nor would I agree to follow anyone into the water with that belief, Hell, Id probably be better off diving solo in this case.
(same scenerio can be applied for a shallow rec dive)
