This kind of activity is a direct result of the glorification of tech diving.
To be fair, the DIR crowd are belatedly trying to make amends for this with their stringent protocols and vehment condemnation of anyone who strays from the one true path, including no deep air etc.
But instead of speaking out about stunts like this on this board, they spend their time denouncing solo, wet steel and other practices that are not nearly as frightening in the context of recreational diving.
Karl, I'm glad you made it back safely. I hope you think twice before trying something like that again.
