Karl,
I read the Suunto web site and they say that the algorithm is the (RGBM) which started with the Haldanean model. Dr. Spencer recognized the silent bubble and the mathematical model does continuous decompression from the knotted line in the micro processor. Which could explain the 10% more conservative that you think you are seeing, don't know. Some reading on their web site is worth reading for those interesteed in deco theory.

I've been using very cheap computer for six years now and it seems a little to conservative now that I'm looking into it. Suunto is working with AAUS and DAN to get a data base of profiles. I guess you can download your profiles to them. Knowing how to work the tables is great but computers seem to be a huge improvement in safety especially for the occasional recreational diver. Proof that statement wrong if you can, I'm running test on my computer to do just that.
