I did anticipate that by making all my calculation at deepest depth, that it would obviously leave me an additional margin of extra air, besides my own 250 PSI reserve.

On the one had, I dont believe in the rule of thirds for ALL dives, unless there is a penetration, such as a wreck or a cave. I have not penetrated any wrecks yet, and I will never penetrate any caves. Caves scare me, and I hate caves.

Therefore I dont feel the need to make precise calculations based on average depths, etc. I did use your explanation of average depth calculations to recompute my air consumption rate on this dive.

Normally, my "working" air consumption rate is 0.95 cu ft per min. On this dive, it worked out to be 1.05 cu ft per min. So thank you! I did appreciate the input! And I read it carefully and thought about it, Mr. Bear.
