I had the same concern before I bought my Halcyon but found out that it is actually an advantage to have the single tank stick out a little.
At the surface, it works as a lever for the tank to pull you back when the wing wants to push you forward!
While diving, you want to keep a horizontal trim anyway, so there is no leverage working against you.
All this is why I decided against a low profile single tank adapter but got the standard one.
