I agree 100% that there are good and bad shops, just as I agree that there are good and bad instructors, but even if you take the best instructor from the best shop teaching deep air is foolish.. This is coming from a guy that drove from L.A. to Monterey for several weekends to complete the class..
It's like teaching a class that shows you how to drive after you have had a few drinks.. You have option A which is to teach them not to do it, or you have option B which is to enable it by teaching the practice...
Sadly money won out and PADI went with option B...
