Hi Karl,

Between fun and class dives, I'm down in Monterey once or twice a month. Breakwater is our standard for OW classes, but I'm on the look out for other sites for AOW classes. Since I DM for several instructors, I'm in the area more than some of them are. Lovers has either been too big or too dirty (bacteria) when I've tried to take students there. Do you have suggestions for AOW beach dive sites? It sounds like you are in the Monterey area more than I am. I've only been back to California for a year - I was living in S. Florida.

How is McAbee's from the shore? I've only dove off it from a boat.

I was a bit surprised to see Butterfly House on your advanced site list. I dove there off the Express two weeks ago (pleasure dive with a known, experienced buddy)and felt that it was relaxing site, not a challenging one. Are you talking about shore diving or is there another criteria you are considering?

Thanks!

Brian
