I am another one of those who has a friend who
was, until recently, a member of the SEAL team.

He once told me the reason why the SEAL teams used
FF's was because they could manuever with them
better on land and the deck of the boats in them
and be less awkward. They used to have races
running in them in the sand as part of their
training.

He was quick to point out that different fins
were used for different drills and operations.

We were at San Clemente Island about 4 years ago
at LCI Point watching a whole boat load of "higher
order" squids jump from their inflatables and then
scamper up three rapel lines from the water to
the top of the bluff where a bus was waiting to
haul them away. These guys jumped into the water,
surface swam about 50 yards, took off their fins
off before climbing up the ropes and into the
busses.

They were all wearing Jet Fins or one of the knock
off brands clipped to their waists as they climbed up.
