Frank, did you know that a $50 hub attached to your cable modem and a few hundred feet of Category 5 transmission cable you could sell your neighbors broadband internet access without the cable company knowing it?
If I could do that where I live I'd get broadband but right now I'm happy with free 56K since it saves me $600 a month. When cable modems are $20 and monthly access is $14.95 I'll subscribe but until then it's a luxury service for rich guys like you. Poor guys like me need that $600 for fishing licenses and boat trips and tips for the crew not to mention air and DAN insurance. If you are into downloading heavy multimedia all the time I guess cable is a must have but you can still get to those DIR videos with 56K. What you do is just download them to your hard drive overnight while you are asleep and watch them in the morning. I do it all the time with mp3's.
Anyway, dive safe Frank and watch out for port sniffers!
