It is my understanding that the Explorer converted over from a sportfishing boat a few years ago.
Some of the skippers of other boats have expressed negative comments about the owner re: his level of commitment to the diving industry.
From your description, it sounds like he won't be getting much repeat business.
Try Peace, Liberty, Spectre or better yet, try a trip on one of the Truth Aquatic Boats out of Santa Barbara. They have a real galley on each of their boats.
