score, SF gets its water for Hetch Hetchy, just on the
other side of the Sierra from Mono Lake.
Locals also think they're invited if the state were
to split into two, not realizing that Redding is even
less interested in a Nor Cal with SF included.
As for diving - the temps are somewhat worse than
SoCal in the winter. Conditions can be rougher, but
quite a few only dive Monastery and Cannery Row, along
with some dives on the boats. If so, nothing to brag
BTW, it makes perfect sense for LA divers to use a non
compressible drysuit. Regardless of the temp, at > 100ft,
wetsuits become pretty damn thin.
