I'd echo Sea Hunt. In fast moving water you NEED strong legs and something that reacts quick such as bodysurfing fins. The old Voit Duckfeet come in a couple of different lengths. The UDT version may work out very well for this.
These were VERY popular for Underwater Hockey until the advent of Quatro Pro's and Technisub Ala's which are the fin of choice in hockey circles.
Personally, I use the Quatro's for u/w hockey and Force Fin Pro's for open water boat and beach diving. I use Body Glove boogie board fins for ocean swims, boarding and general "keep in the trunk" fins should the I have the occasion to be near the water and want/need fins.
