Hi Chris,

I live in N. CA, but I work for a company based in Klosterneuberg (I think I spelled that right). I'm in Vienna at least once a year.

Curt is right about the beauty of N. California. It is a remote area though with advanced cold water ocean diving. For your first visit here, you may find Monterey more interesting. Albion will provide you with camping in a beautiful area surrounded by redwood forests. Monterey is also beautiful, but is a small resort city with some nightlife and is closer to San Francisco. You'll have the option of shore or boat diving in Monterey. Pt. Lobos St. Reserve is very close. It has some of the most beautiful shore accessable diving on the planet. If you are willing to go as far as Santa Barbara, you might want to look into one of the live-aboard boat to the Channel Islands.
