I have the Xcel 6.5 mil suit with the attached hood. I recommend not getting the attached hood as it makes turning your head difficult. Use a hooded vest under the full suit. This not only is more comfortable, but also provides an additional couple of mils of insulation on your chest. (That water in Monterey is COLD!!!)
