I live in Rigecrest which is just north of Edwards, and work at the Navy base there. I know Edwards has some divers there, and the cities of Lancaster and Palmdale, which are near Edwards have dive shops. Sports Chalet, which is a large sporting goods chain is opening a store in Palmdale, and they have dive equipment and clubs. If you like shore diving, there are many great places. If you prefer boats, the nearest is Ventura Harbor, and they have three very good boats, the Spectre, the Liberty, and the Peace. The Explorer is there too, but not recommended. Santa Barbara has a couple of good boats, that's just north of Ventura, and Long the Beach area, to the south has dive boats and charters that go to Catalina Island. If you want to go south, San Diego and wreck alley is a must for experianced divers. Lots of good diving here.
