Where there is food (Sea Lions), there is something to eat the food (Sharks).
There are many dive boats that visit the Channel Islands, and have been doing so for many years. How many divers have been in these waters during the past 40 years? How many have been attacked by sharks?
Sharks are in the area, and if they thought that we might be tasty, somebody would have been eaten by now.
