It's funny, according to your DIR standards everything I dive with is crap gear. I'm thinking about a backplate for doubles, this makes sense to me. But, with a backplate and a single tank, I reviewed the Dive-Rite Web site and they warn that a single tank mounted to a backplate with a single tank adapter places the the tank several inches off your back. This is not streamlining and increases your overall girth does it not? This doesn't seem like an improvement over my Ranger that has the tank laying on my back and probably more streamlined.
