This thread is about the depletion that is occuring right before our eyes. Do you propose that we do nothing
but stay the course and watch as OUR waters become more depleted? You can blame the regulations, commercials, rec's,
but ultimately the depletion was driven by the choices that each consumptive user willfully made.
It is no mystery that virtuall all fish stocks are stressed. Under the current DFG regulations, that will only get worse unless we choose to make a change within ourselves.
The only option that WE all have under these circumstances is to choose to limit our take activities.
That is grace, my friend! That is the appeal being made here by some very fine people. It is an expression of unselfishness
that not only honors the individual, but is our best hope for the future.
If we continue to look at factors other than our own free will, things will never
get any better. The life in OUR waters is slipping away, the only question that remains is, are you willing to make the sacrifice, not later when our management wish-list comes true, but now?
Those who exploit do not have the heart to go after others who do the same. Until the cycle is broken, we will not have the impetus to take OUR waters back from those who are doing the greatest harm.
