my point is that he should call it what it is, a sport. there are more efficent ways to fish if he needed to feed his family. the other point is that spear fishing is not going to put a dent in the fish population so he could be killing them and throwing them away and it really wouldn't mater. there is no reason to hide behind "I'm feeding my family" as an excuse. it's like the argument "we have to thin the deer heards so we kill them so they don't have to die."
