What is so wrong with sport spearfishing if he does it ethically. He like fresh fish and taking the fish of his choice. It has nothing to do with finances because he bought a rebreather. I still don't think you understand. Are you a vegetarian? Do you eat seafood? Do you fish?
From some of the other posts it seems that sport fishing is just a small percentage of the problem. Net fishing kills everything this type of fishing is taking it's toll on the oceans unsustainable resources.
