"We very easily could deco out on back gas. The only thing the 50% does is accelerate the off gasing process.."

Just checking, that's what I thought.

"In fact, if you compare your gas ( ie; 79% Nitrogen) versus our back gas ( ie 55% Nitrogen ) you can easily see on a strict comparative basis you are uptaking N2 at a much greater rate than we are."

I know that. But your gas cost money, mine was free and included with the trip. ;-)) I need to do more offgassing though. Not that I don't want to try helium, I'm researching a cost effective way to get there.

"As to the dive itself, we ALWAYS run a continuos line from the anchoe line, using a secondary tie off, and then run a reel the whole dive.. There is very little chance of us not getting back to the anchor line. Should that ever happen we would shoot a bag and do a floating deco."

This is the only way anyone should do the Moody, vis can be restricted. Anchor lines can break so a contingency plan is nice to have.
