No, it was strictly a bounce dive to unsnarl his anchor. He had little, if any, bottom time left. In those days we just followed our smallest bubbles up to the surface. Stops were only for stage decom dives which were frowned upon.
The real tragedy is how he's ending his life: drinking himself to death, alone and bitter. T.A. is his partner Glenn's operation now.
