I'm not saying Karl is a liar, I'm saying he doesn't know enough about the gas..

I've dove with Karl on several occasions and we discussed the issue in much greater detail than we get into on this list and the fact remains that Helium is a much friendlier gas than Nitrogen.

It does in fact uptake and offgas at a rate 2.65 times percent faster than N2, so to make blanket statements about 20' ascents doesn't make much sense because there are too many variables to make that statement meaningful..

What depth????

What tissue group is he talking about????

How staurated is the diver????

What percentage of He is in the mix????

and on and on.......

As for deep air being a pre-req to He. I would ask what agency ?????

Not in GUE, however when I did my training GUE wasn't around yet and as such I did the IANTD routine and was forced to go through a deep air class...

Later
