Thanks to a number of dive shops who understand the need for funds for our chamber, as well as the contributions of a couple of prominent instructors and a manufacturer's rep (donating out of his own pocket AFTER making a sizable merchandise contribution), we are bubbling under $14,000 in the Michael Kane $10K Chamber Challenge.

Now just because we've already passed the $10K mark doesn't mean there's a need to stop. Every dollar raised goes to our chamber to help it run on a 24/7/365 basis. Remember too that since our Chamber is NOT affiliated with a hospital (and, obviously, given the relative remoteness of its location) it cannot rely on income from other traditional hyperbaric sources (wound care, burns, etc.). It SOLE purpose is to treat diving accidents and that's why it's so critical for those of us in the diving community to step forward every year and being willing to financially support this vital lifeline that we hope we'll never have to use. Because if you ever DO need it, the availability of our Chamber can literally be an issue or life or death.

Last year, we raised almost $22,000 in this Challenge. We'd like to do better this year. We're running somewhat behind last year's pace and as we look over the list of contributors, we note a number of you who donated last year have yet to step forward this year. We'd rather not do a barrage of e-mail badgering, but if that's what it takes . . .
