yes, guilty as charged. Occasionally I do go it alone, although rarely. I also climb solo, although that rarely in these days too. And it isn't a question of "letting my wife go solo". She's been diving near 16 years and probably has 500-1000 dives. She's way more qualified than I (and occassionally goes it alone, as well).

My point was more about focus, task loading, and attitude. And diving is something that we mostly do together. Unfortunately she hasn't been able to dive for a couple of months, so I've been going out with others. But I have high hopes she'll be back in action in a month or so. And then it'll be rare to find me in the water without her, although I'm not sure if she's really into going on the Wreck Diver's trips.

Rule 2: No solo diving; at least if anyone is watching :-)

-- interestingly enough, the two equipment failures I've had have both been "unintentional solo" You'd think I'd get the message :-)
