Some time ago I have the misfortune to wind up tangled in a fair batch of monofiliment line at Catalina. I think it was at Italian Gardens, but it was while moving through heavy Kelp.

The scary part was that I ended up (as soon as I noticed the &%#@%^ stuff) that it was wrapped around several parts of the body and gear (including my neck and reg. hose). I was able to cut loose with my knife and my buddy's sissors, but that episode convinced me to always have a cutting surface with me.

Trying to untangle the stuff was tiring, time consuming and hard since the stuff was higher test than I could break with my hands.

My 2 cents.
