If what you say is true than IANTD should have let there instructors know that because I was NOT allowed to take trimix until I completed the deep air, or advanced deepa ir or technical deep air or whatever the hell you want to call it..
My program was about going to 180' on air, I could care less what label you attach to it because you can't teach someone to dive on air to 180'..
I've had many discussions with Tom Mount about this and his answer has always been that since many places around the world don't have access to helium and want to dive deep that's why he keeps teaching the course...
As for an answer to a question on a DM exam I took years ago, it's completely irrelevant..
Whatever aganecy, IANTD, TDI, PADI or whoever my feeling is that just like you can't teach someone to drive drunk, you can't teach someone to dive on air deep....
