You bring up hypercapnia, which is the more technical word for CO2 retention. What is the physiologic result? Hyperventilation?

"Gases with a higher resistance through defusion and breathnig aparatus will also cause a retention of CO2. This is a big advantage that we see in the use of Helium. You can even hear the difference when you purge you regulator."

I don't follow this at all. Are you hearing the CO2 purging because you're breathing helium?
