Frank,
Second response to you tonight. In 72 I was certified by LA County,
and they teached that I should always have a snorkle. I don't know if
this is right or wrong, but, I use it alot.
I watch divers use their air to swim to the anchor line. I see divers
swim on their backs through the kelp only to catch the kelp. I have
read many posts attacking divers useing snorkles. Why? Someone said too much
drag. Give me a break. How much drag could a snorkle cause?
I use my snorkle to swim to the anchor line. I use my snorkle to check out
the area that I want to dive. I do not always go down right under the boat. I
use my snorkle to swim back to the boat. For sometimes I plan on a one way trip
and do need a long surface swim back. The last reason is for just plan fun and
sight seeing. I have seen some very interesting and fun things through out the years
by just looking down while swimming back to the boat.
Tim
