Stone, I can't believe this convoluted exchange of absolute trivia! For many years we dove quite successfuly and safely without an SPG, using only the J valve on the tank when the psi got to 500 and we resurfaced. Time at depth and consumption of air was more a function of individual mental calculation...much the same as DIR is advocating now! Back To The Future!
