Steve, We use DIN values in the U.S. mainly for high pressure tanks. The DIN system is a better value then the yoke, it employ's a captured O-ring design, that is less likely to rupture, and they flow about 150% more gas compared to yoke-type values. They are also more streamlined.
In the U. S. the yoke is standard and has given good service for over 50 years, I don't see that chancing in th enear features
