I ran a 14ft soft bottom boat for about 15 years to all the places the bigger boats couldn't get to. Primarily because I'm nuts.

Hard bottom would be a bit better. By a new motor, a used one is usually a big hassle. If you can afford it, a steering system, remote controls, and electric start make life a lot easier. Make sure that you use an SLA (gel cell) battery so you don't eat the boat with battery acid. Finally, if the boat is not hypalon, don't buy it. !!!PERIOD!!! Nothing else can withstand the rigors of the kind of abuse the Pacific Ocean and a few divers can do.

Buy the way. a 14ft inflatable has about 10ft of interior space. Translation: TWO divers.
