I completely agree. I use the Zeagle Ranger with a back infate.

Up here in Monterey I always dive dry. I hate ankle
weights and never use them.

I have found that (when on the surface) if I keep
the BC medium inflated I can float easily on my
back with my feet floating on the surface. Once I get
my feet on the surface they will puff up with the
residual air in my suit and stay there until I kick them
down. And once down they stay down. And before you
jump to any conclusions I am not fat, and that is
not what is floating me. I am 6'2" and weigh 156.

Under water my feet are completely neutral. They don't drag and
they don't float.
