The the concept of Principles Before Personalities prevents us from having Contempt Prior To Investigation. Another concept we have is "listen to the message, not the messenger". Were it not for my involvement in AA I would probably share your contempt for the messengers of DIR. I'm very grateful I don't. Except for one with the initials JW, but then I'm still recovering. My AA friends would remind me: "Forgive me my trespasses as I must forgive those who trespass against me."
