He is used for other things than trimix. Liquid He boils at -269 degrees C. It is used for supercoducting magnets, nuclear reactors, welding, purification of semiconductors for computers, supercomputers, etc.
The US has the only appreciable deposits in the world, located in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. There is one other plant in Saskatchewan, Canada.
