Just about everyone in Florida uses Nitrox, particularly in cave situations.
I understand his body was found beyond the Henkel, which is a very difficult dive to get to without using stages. I further understand that he did in fact use a stage bottle that he dropped about 1900 into the cave.
In other words, this was an extended range type dive and knowing Steve the way I knew him, no way in the world was he diving air..
But I don't know for sure...
