Most of the local regular divers that I knew used nitrox. That included me. Membrane systems were very common in local shops. When you're in Boynton, you'll notice that Dive Shop II, which is at the end of the marina where Splashdown docks, has a bank of 36%.

In The Keys a higher percentage of the divers are not locals. They can be a bit sloppier and still survive on the tourist trade.
